GMO stands for  Genetically Modified Organism. It is the laboratory processes to alter their genetic materials (DNA) to improve their natural performance or characteristics.
Non-GMO is the opposite of GMO. It remains in their natural form, free from any genetically engineered processes. They are organic, natural, and of a higher quality.

GMO crops have been enhanced and immune to chemicals like pesticides. Pesticides include both insecticides and herbicides. So those crops lead to more pesticides or less?  There is no straight answer and turned into debatable topics. The continuous use of Genetically Modified Organism(GMO), in the long run, will further enhance the growth and spread of these resistant weeds and pests, which will definitely counter the purpose of Genetically Modified Organism. As these resistive plants and pests continue to grow and spread, the need to increase the dosage or change the chemicals will arise, this will lead to a hike in the cost of these chemicals. Unfortunately, this will favor only the manufacturers of the chemicals, while consumers and farmers suffer. In addition to that, there is a possibility of these enhanced crops passing on their characteristics to the weeds around them. The future will tell us how these pest-resistant plants would impact the ecosystem. It could lead to an increase and spread of new species of weeds that are immune to herbicides. Farmers might end up spraying more dosage of weed killers to wipe them out. There are many questions on the use of Genetically Modified Organism. Nature shouldn’t be messed with, but unfortunately, this has been happening.

For instance, GMO corn is engineered by built-in pesticides in the cell. It is not something you can wash off the crop unlike spray. Consider that small spray of pesticides is very harmful to the human body. That gives your perspective.  These are toxic chemicals in your body. The more toxic chemicals are accumulated in your body, the consequences of health issues will be followed. GMO soy and corns contain higher concentrated allergenic properties than non-GMO soy and corns. No wonder why many people have allergies, irritable bowel problems in the US. This is the only example of GMO soy and corn not even counting other GMO produce. There are also GMO apples that don’t turn to brown which helps longevity in the store.
