What is antioxidants?

Antioxidants are compounds that can either be produced artificially or found naturally that have the ability to prevent or delay some types of cell damage. It has been shown that diets that are high in vegetables and fruits, which are good sources of antioxidants, are healthy. However, research has not demonstrated that taking antioxidant supplements can be effective in the prevention of diseases.
